Olive Squalene

Used to soften and condition the skin. Rich in anti-oxidants and a skin protectant, rich in gamma-oryzanol, which helps protect and replenish your skin. Rice Bran oil can be an effective substitute for lanolin, and can help reduce inflammation and soothe discomfort. It's a wonderful oil for itchy "alligator" skin.

Aloe Vera

Most people already know the healing and soothing benefits of Aloe Vera. We loved it before we made skin care, and we love it in our creams.

Cold Pressed Apricot Kennel Oil

Apricot kernel oil is a finely textured oil and is easily absorbed by the skin, without leaving it feeling oily or greasy and is high in poly-unsaturated fatty acids. Apricot kernel oil is particularly helpful for dehydrated, delicate, mature and sensitive skin, and it helps to soothe inflammation. Apricot Kernel Oil is rich in oleic and linoleic essential fatty acids.

Grape Seed Oil

Grape Seed Oil is another light oil and is excellent for moisturizing the skin. Grape seed oil is is very high in antioxidants and contains high amounts of vitamin E, vitamin C, Beta-Carotene, and vitamin D.

Plant Emulsifier

Creams are made from a mix of purified water and oils so as to be more moisturising than oil alone. To hold water and oils together, they need an emulsifying wax. We use a plant based wax that allows the water and oils to stay together.

MSM

MSM is an Organic Sulphur compound which is present in every cell of the body. MSM has been proven to be a great skin softener and soothing compound for irritated skin. Studies have shown it also helps improve the production of collagen and keratin and is often used in many anti-ageing cosmetic applications. It is non-toxic and promotes healthy skin for all types.

Glyceryl Caprylate

When water and natural oils are mixed, they can become contaminated with bacteria, some of which can be very dangerous. Our products are often used by people with already troubled skin and children, and bacteria are the last thing they need. We also use the products ourselves. We know that a tiny amount of an effective preservative in a natural product to keep the cream pure is a much safer option than taking chances with "natural" preservatives that are not very effective. Glyceryl Caprylate is an Ecocert Approved (Organic Approved) way of keeping this cream sterile. We voluntarily send our creams for testing to an independent laboratory that checks the purity of the cream if stored under 30 degrees for 2 years. This is called a British Pharmocopea Preservative Efficacy Test.

Piroctone Olamine

An Olamine Salt that prevents mould and yeast and helps keep the cream sterile. It is also non irritating and non-toxic.

Vanilla Bean Oils

We added it to neutralize the smell and make it more refreshing.

Resveratrol

A new ingredient, Resveratrol may be an important additive to skin products to reduce the risks of skin cancer, according to recent studies.

Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (Stabilized Vitamin C)

Anti-Oxidants help prevent skin oxidisation and so in theory can help prevent the signs of ageing. The difficulty is developing ingredients that can stay stable long enough to penetrate the skin to work their magic. Ascobyl Tetraisopalmitate is the latest and most expensive form of the Vitamin C anti-oxidant. It also helps with pigmentation. A typical study is shown here.

Allantoin (Comfrey Active)

Comfrey Root has long been known as a healing plant. Allantoin was identified as the part of the plant that performed this function and it has since been synethised to make it more concentrated and effective.  So the allantoin we use is the pure ingredient. Allantoin has been termed a cell proliferant in texts such as the "United States Dispensatory". It is said to clean away dead tissue, hastening the growth of new healthy tissue. Allantoin has been also termed a counter irritant. Allantoin produces its desirable effects by promoting and speeding up the healthy, natural processes of the body. It helps the skin to help itself. It is also promoted as preventing lines and wrinkles by assisting skin repair

Olive Squalene.

One of our favourite moisturising oils. It helps leave your skin moisturized and dewy. It is good for all skin types, including acne prone skin.

Our body produces a small amount of squalane, but the amount diminishes when we get older, starting in our twenties. Squalane is required for our skin to keep it moisturized and fight aging. It is also an unique antioxidant from olives that protects our skin from free-radical damages.

Since Olive squalane's composition is very similar to human sebum, it can penetrate our skin very quickly to help our skin to fight dryness. It enhances skin elasticity and moisture retention.

Milk Protein

Cognis research found that milk protein in a cream increased skin elasticity by around 20% compared to the same cream without.  Skin elasticity ensures lines and wrinkles are minimized after any movement of the skin.
Dairy Allergies: Most people with milk allergies are allergic to Lactose in milk, not the protein. However, as with all natural products, they should be patch tested on a small area of skin first.

Blend of Vitamin E (Gamma and Alpha Tocopherol

Many skin care products use a particular form of Vitamin E called Alpha Tocopherol. This is needed to help prevent the oils in the cream oxidising. MooGoo uses a blend of both Alpha and Gamma Tocopherol. It is Gamma Tocopherol that is the most potent anti-oxidant for the skin. Simple “Vitamin E” is just not enough.
