Olive Oil

Wonderfully healthy for the skin. So many good things it might be best to Google "Olive Oil Skin" instead.

Olive Squalene

Used to soften and condition the skin. Rich in anti-oxidants and a skin protectant, rich in gamma-oryzanol, which helps protect and replenish your skin. Rice Bran oil can be an effective substitute for lanolin, and can help reduce inflammation and soothe discomfort. It's a wonderful oil for itchy "alligator" skin.

Virgin Coconut Oil

Naturopath often suggest Raw Coconut Oil to soothe troubled and irritable skin.  It has also been a popular home remedy for inflamed skin.  It contains all sorts of nutrients that skin loves.  However, alone we find it way too ‘oily’.  But mixed with the Udder Cream it brings all its benefits, without the oiliness. 

Emulsifying Wax

Creams are made from a mix of purified water and oils so as to be more moisturising than oil alone. To hold water and oils together, they need an emulsifying wax.  We use a plant based wax that allows the water and oils to stay together.

Milk Protein

Cognis research found that milk protein in a cream increased skin elasticity by around 20% compared to the same cream without.  Skin elasticity ensures lines and wrinkles are minimized after any movement of the skin.
Dairy Allergies: Most people with milk allergies are allergic to Lactose in milk, not the protein. However, as with all natural products, they should be patch tested on a small area of skin first.

Allantoin
(Comfrey Root Active)

Comfrey Root has long been known as a healing plant. Allantoin was identified as the part of the plant that performed this function and it has since been synethised to make it more concentrated and effective.  So the allantoin we use is the pure ingredient. Allantoin has been termed a cell proliferant in texts such as the "United States Dispensatory". It is said to clean away dead tissue, hastening the growth of new healthy tissue. Allantoin has been also termed a counter irritant. Allantoin produces its desirable effects by promoting and speeding up the healthy, natural processes of the body. It helps the skin to help itself. It is also promoted as preventing lines and wrinkles by assisting skin repair

Aloe Vera

Most people already know the healing and soothing benefits of Aloe Vera. We loved it before we made skin care, and we love it in our creams.

Glycerol Caprylate

When water and natural oils are mixed, they can become contaminated with bacteria, some of which can be very dangerous. Our products are often used by people with already troubled skin and children, and bacteria are the last thing they need. We also use the products ourselves. We know that a tiny amount of an effective preservative in a natural product to keep the cream pure is a much safer option than taking chances with "natural" preservatives that are not very effective. Glyceryl Caprylate is an Ecocert Approved (Organic Approved) way of keeping this cream sterile. We voluntarily send our creams for testing to an independent laboratory that checks the purity of the cream if stored under 30 degrees for 2 years. This is called a British Pharmocopea Preservative Efficacy Test.

Vitamin E

We use natural Vitamin E which is a mix of both Alpha and Gamma Tocopherol. This is important as many products use only Alpha Tocopherol Vitamin E, while it is  Gamma Tocopherol that is is considered the best anti-oxidant for skin. Vitamin E functions on the skin to protect cells against free-radical damage, and an abundant assortment of researchers from diversified medical fields have theorized that this can slow the aging process. Apple Cider Vinegar

We added this originally to lower pH to that of the skin.  But we also love the smell of the cream with this and honey

Piroctone Olamine

Non-irritating  Olamine salt  with which helps keep the cream sterile and free from yeast and mould.

Guarsilk

A guar based skin conditioner which gives the skin a silky smooth finish.

Honey

We initially added this because of the good effects for the skin.  However, we love it most for the balance it gives to the Apple Cider Vinegar.  A beautiful smelling cream without fragrance.
